Piperine is an off-white or white fine powder. It is often added to enhance aroma and flavor in foods. It can promote drug absorption, and improve the effectiveness of drug function. In clinical practice, it can induce calm (sedative effect), or to induce sleep (hypnotic effect), and is used to make anticonvulsant, antidepressant & muscle relaxation drugs.
