The pure form of o,o-diethyl dithiophoshpate is a transparent colorless oily liquid. It easily dissolves in water and organic solvents. It is an important pesticide intermediate which can be used to produce organic phosphorus pesticides. It can synthesize another organic phosphorus intermediate by chlorination.
