Profile: Hispanagar S.A. specializes in the manufacturing of hydrocolloids extracted from seaweeds that includes agar-agar and carrageenan. Agar,which is a natural hydrocolloid used in cuisine and a gelling agent & thickener as well as a natural source of vegetable origin dietary fiber. Carrageenans are ingredients in food and non-food products where they are used as stabilizing, thickening, binding, suspending and gelling agents. We produce peptone products, which are basic ingredients for culture media formulations with and without agar. We also produce agarose powder and bacteriological agar.
