Profile: Ajanta Chemical Industries (Group) offers chlorinated paraffin wax and hydrochloric acid. Chlorinated paraffin is produced by passing gaseous chlorine into paraffin hydrocarbons at a temperature at which the viscosity of the paraffin is sufficiently low to permit free evolution of hydrochloric acid and solution of the chlorine. Chlorinated paraffin is used as plastic extenders. Hydrochloric acid is frequently used in chemical analysis to prepare samples for analysis. Concentrated hydrochloric acid dissolves many metals and forms oxidized metal chlorides & hydrogen gas. It reacts with basic compounds such as calcium carbonate or copper (II) oxide.
