The exothermic or released heat of reaction is captured and used to evaporate the excess slaking water. We offer various grades of natural lime stones. Limestone is a sedimentary rock, which is composed of calcium carbonate (calcite) or the double carbonate of calcium and magnesium (dolomite) tiny fossils, shell fragments & other plants remains. A limestone can metamorphose into marble, if it is subjected to intense heat or pressure, for over a long period of time. Both limestone and marble, chemically contain calcium carbonate. Dolomitic quicklime or flux dolomite is the name given to the quicklime formed from calcining a natural dolomitic limestone that contains nearly an equal molar weight percentage of calcium oxide to magnesium oxide.
